In the event of an oil or hazardous substance spill, contact the: National Response Center 1-800-424-8802 If this is not possible, contact the U.S. Coast Guard or EPA depending on your location. (This document is also available in WordPerfect format here.)

  • The U.S. Coast Guard is the lead federal response agency for spills occurring in coastal water, deep water ports, the Great Lakes & the Mississippi River and operates the National Response Center.
  • EPA is the lead federal response agency for spills occurring in inland waters.
